Beginning in the 70's and continuing throughout the 80's and early 90's, Robert Farber worked with the Polaroid SX70 to capture images of strong graphic composition, many of which reflect that period of time.

Farber took his work with Polaroid seriously, using their cameras not just as a tool to preview his commercial work (as many photographers do), but also to create unique pieces where the distinct quality of the polaroid image became part of the aesthetic.

What best complemented his original vision was to produce the collection using the dye infused aluminum process.

however, the challenge was to keep the look of the original SX70, which was both glossy and matte. Working along with Blazing Editions, he used two different sheets of aluminum that had to be precision-cut and embedded as one. The glossy metal was chosen to the image area, and the matte metal fur the surrounding white frame, both in keeping with the details and character of the original.
