The giraffe is the world’s tallest living, land mammal. With an average height of nineteen feet and a two ton body mass, it's hard to believe that the biggest threat to these absolutely colossal artiodactyla, are humans.

Over the past 30 years, belligerent and unregulated hunting, poaching and wildlife trafficking, coupled with a rapidly shrinking habitat, have wiped out over 40 percent of the earth’s giraffes. In the late 19th and mid 20th century herds were profound and massive, made up of 20-30 of these fantastical creatures on average.
