"In 1929, the residents of Swaythling, England, noticed a few Eurasian blue tits doing something unusual—the birds were prying the lids off freshly delivered bottles of milk and stealing the butterfat that had settled at the top. Within a few years these dairy depredations had reached epidemic proportions—in some places, the birds were even seen following the milkman—but this behavior is rarely seen today. Stronger caps seem to keep the birds away."
