"My still life photograph, featuring pomegranates grape and a wine glass, evokes the Renaissance era and involved meticulous craftsmanship. For four to five hours I was arranging the still life setup until I liked it and felt that each element is placed perfectly and shows harmony and depth. It required patience, paying attention to details and I leaned to see beauty in everyday objects. Every pomegranate, every object and every light reflection on the wine glass was arranged with great care and observation. Before releasing the shutter of my extinct large format camera I sat in front of the arrangement looking at it for long time observing and recognizing each detail. This way I felt the arrangement became alive to me. I hope you like the picture.
The picture was taken with my Chamonix F2 large format camera on Kodak 4x5inch Tmax 400 film and I developed it in our darkroom as a handmade platinum print on Hawagashi paper."
