As I look now at my picture of these candles, the thin wisps of smoke swirling upward, I can’t help but reflect on how fragile our world truly is. There’s something in this scene that brings to mind the stark reality of industrial zones and factories—places where the choices we make every day leave their impact on our inviroment.
For many, global warming might seem like a distant issue, something that’s easy to push to the back of our minds. But the truth is, it’s happening right now, all around us and we are part of it. Those once-glowing romantic candles, now reduced to smoke, serve as a quiet reminder of what we’re contributing to the atmosphere with every action, no matter how small.
It’s worth taking a moment to consider how our choices impact the planet. Even the smallest efforts can add up in the fight against climate change. Let’s think about what we can do today to make a difference and we must in order to safe our planet.
The picture was taken with my Chamonix F2 large format camera on Kodak 4x5inch Tmax 400 film and I developed it in our darkroom as a handmade #platinumprint on Hawagashi paper.
