    FRANÇAIS CI-DESSOUS

This long-exposure image was taken in Room 215 at Arthur Findlay College, a location said to be charged with spiritual activity. Karen Gardner and Donna Sinclair Hogan had reported strange experiences there — hearing voices, feeling static electricity, and seeing a dark shadow move across a bath towel.

Spiritualists distinguish themselves from paranormal investigators by seeking spirits, not ghosts. As medium Kim Moore-Cullen explains: "Ghosts are an energy imprint in time — like videotape, a charge that just keeps looping." This idea echoes the 19th-century concept of the Akashic records — a believed compendium of every event, thought, and emotion ever to have occurred, encoded onto a non-physical layer of existence known as the etheric plane. Spiritualist editor W. T. Stead (1849–1912) similarly speculated that hauntings may be a form of recording.
