"Despite its name, given for its featherless head and neck that recall the threatening countenance of a vulture, the vulturine guineafowl in fact lives on fallen fruit. They frequently trail behind troops of monkeys, gobbling up half-eaten fruit the feckless primates have dropped on the ground. However, they must be careful not to come too close or the opportunistic monkeys will descend from the trees and make the birds their next meal."
