We are thrilled to announce our participation to the 2025 edition of The Photography Show by AIPAD 2025!
We will present "Liturgy of Light" at booth #D7: a curated retrospective exhibition of German photographer and master printer Jan C Schlegel. From portraits of nomadic tribes people to photomicrography of plancton, Schlegel's creative work is diverse and reflects the author's deep interest and love for life on our planet in all its forms, in its touching fragility and vast diversity. The selection will feature platinum prints with gold on Hawagashi paper from his series "Liturgy of Light" alongside more intimate portraits in platinum iridium from his series "Mirror and Windows".
We will premiere "Delilah - Allure, Mystery, & Romance", his latest body of work featuring Dahlia flowers from various species, captured on wet plate/oro prints with collodion on gold! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist and experience his latest works in person.
Don't miss Jan Schlegel's talk at 1pm on Saturday, April 26th.
The artist will provide insight into his latest exploration of jellyfish, the ghostly dancers of the abyss. Schlegel's presentation will delve into the captivating duality of these creatures—both enchanting and intimidating—while sharing his unique approach to capturing their elegance on discontinued Polaroid 55 film and transposing it to platinum prints. Drawing from his intimate experience of nurturing and observing these mesmerizing beings, Schlegel will discuss the challenges of working with them in a creative context, highlighting the delicate balance between their natural beauty and elusive behavior.
