Photo London: London, UK

13 - 17 May 2026
Overview

Photo London is the UK’s leading international fair for photography and image-based art, bringing together established and emerging practitioners, galleries, and curators. For this edition, our booth (G08) presents two distinct yet resonant bodies of work, each situated within a considered curatorial context.

We are pleased to present, for the first time in the UK, Jan C Schlegel’s Life on Earth: the complete series of 51 platinum prints depicting phytoplankton. Produced using rare platinum printing processes, these works render microscopic marine organisms at an extraordinary scale and level of detail. As the foundation of marine ecosystems and a primary contributor to the planet’s oxygen supply, phytoplankton are approached here with both scientific clarity and poetic intensity, foregrounding the fragile systems that underpin life on Earth.

Alongside this, we present the first exhibition of selected works from Tim Flach’s Feline. These photographs, previously unpublished in exhibition form, extend Flach’s sustained inquiry into the animal world, focusing on the evolving relationship between humans and cats across domestic, wild, and hybrid species. The series articulates his distinctive visual language while reflecting on themes of domestication, identity, and interspecies proximity.

Together, the presentation articulates a dialogue between two registers of life on Earth, from its microscopic ecological foundations to the complex emotional and cultural bonds we share with animals.

Both Jan C Schlegel and Tim Flach will be present at the fair, offering an opportunity for direct engagement with the artists and their practices.
