The patterns in this work are inspired by the spaces where I played as a child and the memories of hiding in a closet as an escape. The piece also reflects a series of relational struggles from that time. I employed optical art to convey emotional turmoil and chaos, a distortion of perspective. The cluttered room, with simple items like sewing tools transformed into menacing objects, evokes the fear a child feels when confronted with changes to their familiar world. It also suggests that unforeseen challenges may be lurking nearby.

"Cette oeuvre est inspirée de mes souvenirs de jeu d'enfance ainsi que du placard où j'aimais me réfugier afin d'y trouver un abri. L'oeuvre se base sur une série d'interactions sociales que j'eus à cet âge et ayant mené au conflit. L'art optique a été employé afin d'exprimer un tourbillon émotionnel, un chaos faisant perdre toute perspective. En transformant en éléments agressifs de petits objets de couture, je souhaitais évoquer la peur qu'éprouve un enfant lorsqu'il est confronté aux changements intervenant dans un monde qui lui est familier."
