Handwritten poem: A Martyr is Witness, by Chuck Ward
"From the beginning of time, you’ve hunted my kind. Could you be more shortsighted, more deaf, and more blind? Can you not hear our cries, our dead bodies not see? A Martyr is Witness to what should not be.
Our Creator delivered perfection in us.And yet you would kill us just for our tusks? More strength and more beauty, you’ll never see. A Martyr is Witness to what should not be.
One by one, we are gone and do you not care? And don’t you dare tell me that “life is not fair.” I endure as my family falls around me. A Martyr is Witness to what should not be."
Judgment will come to us both in the end. And what reminder of you do you want to send? When I’ve joined all the Martyrs that you witnessed for me? For more strength and more beauty, you’ll never see.“
