FRANÇAIS CI-APRÈS

Reach depicts a coastal, desert-like seashore where numerous small white spheres appear dispersed across the landscape, suggesting movement and a quiet sense of activation within the scene. Although they seem scattered at varying distances, all spheres are identical in size. The image is constructed from a sequence of photographs taken from a fixed viewpoint, in which a single ball was repeatedly repositioned and then layered into a composite composition, producing an illusion of multiplicity, rhythm, and latent motion.

At the edge of the frame, the artist stands on a rock facing the sea, arms open in an embracing gesture toward the seascape, holding a single sphere. This bodily openness anchors the image while echoing the expansion suggested by the dispersed forms across the shore. The perfect, man-made sphere becomes both origin and echo—repeated across the landscape as if it were gently animating it. In Reach, stillness and movement coexist, articulating a tension between constructed order and the organic vastness of the natural world.
